If you have a direct sales opportunity you have beyond a doubt asked yourself what is the easiest way to get new business. This is the most common question home business owners have. Getting leads is often the toughest part of any direct sales business and without leads it will be nearly impossible to ensure success. Having a website is the first step to attaining new clients and customers but you have to be able to get tons of people to your website in order to get the kind of traffic you need in order to make consistant sales.
There are many ways to drive traffic to your own website, and social networking websites can be a fun and cheap way to do it. Posts at facebook or twitter can contain a brief message about your product and service with a link to find out more. A less pushy way to meet new people would be to write an article about something similar to your product or service and at the end of the article write a short bio about yourself which would inculde a link to your website. A lot of these websites have forums where you can go to help other people who are looking for your expertise or services.
As an example, let’s talk about someone who sells cleaning products online. You want to be looking for someone who is in need for your product right now, someone like a wife who needs to get an oil stain out of her husbands work pants. We are a society built on getting what we want, when we want it so most people turn to the internet if they have a question. The wife goes to google or yahoo to obtain the best way to get the stain out. The search results then take her to the forum area of a website like answers at yahoo.com. She sees a number of different ways that people have been able to get out the oil including links to the product that was used successfully. Your product.
It really can be that easy to locate customers. Your challenge is to pinpoint as many forum sections as you can that would be relevant to your service or product and to start generating posts. If possible, it is a valuable idea to have friends and relatives who have used your product to post messages as well, telling their success stories in their own words. Before the internet, it was constantly said that word of mouth was the easiest way to promote yourself and using forums is the 21st century equivalent.
