What is the difference between Linux and Windows web hosting web hosting?

Heya Please tell em what is the difference between Web Hosting Linux and Windows web hosting. I made my site by Dreamweaver does that affect one of the 2 should i choose please tell me Thanx!

Windows and Linux often use two different web server applications. Sites Windows uses the Windows IIS server, while almost all Linux sites use Apache. Sites Focus on Linux PHP, Perl and open source languages other script for server side scripts. Windows-based sites use NET technologies ASP. They could also offer support for PHP. Linux sites provide MySQL as a database for content storage backend. Sites Windows will probably offer SQL Server, although some offer versions of Windows and MySQL. It should not be any difference between the two if you use Web standards strictly in your HTML code. However, you must be aware of the fact that since Dreamweaver is a Windows only product, it may add some non standard things in your HTML code. FrontPage also done that. As long as you comply with accepted web standards and does not use any Windows-centric stuff in your site, you should have no problem with.
